This is Bailey Green’s story of how The Spirit healed her.
In my years as a follower of Christ, I often looked at the ministry of healing suspiciously. Healing was a show put on for televangelists or stories that were told to make a person sound impressive. Maybe, God would grant this for really sick people - the type of requests that make the top of your bible study prayer list; maybe cancer or a car accident. However, last year my entire view on healing, and the power of the Holy Spirit was made alive. Despite my dismal faith or even the lacking in prayer to ask for it, God healed me.
Over the course of several days, I had pain in my shoulders and back that I had never experienced before. Never. All it had led me to do was complain about being uncomfortable but never to anyone besides my husband. One afternoon I received a text from Pastor Ryan asking if I was having back pain. Ryan had been praying for God to give him a vision specifically for someone, and God placed my back in his mind. When I confirmed that I had been in pain, Ryan prayed over me, and as the day went on my pain subsided and did not return. In that brief moment, God intersected two needs of his children – one in faith and one in body.
A small ailment was removed from my body but a flame of faith was being fanned for both me and Pastor Ryan. Our God heals. He loves his children and, when he desires to, he heals. Not for our glory but his. I pray that this encourages you to keep asking, keep seeking, keep knocking – believing in faith of his tender love and care for both your body and soul.
