TRINITARIAN NARRATIVE

We are caught up in a story of churches planting churches for the Father’s glory, for Jesus to build his church, and for the Holy Spirit to make people alive.

In 1845, the Southern Baptist Convention formed in Augusta, Georgia and decided to take the gospel out west. Thirteen families settled on the Texas plains, establishing Holford Prairie Church. By 1882, the church had grown to 37 people and had to move into town, creating First Baptist Church of Lewisville.

The church multiplied in 1962, planting Lakeland Baptist Church who in turn planted Highland Village First Baptist Church in 1978. Then, in 2002, Matt Chandler became the lead pastor, and the church became known as The Village Church. In 2006, The Village planted City View Church in Keller. And in 2011 the gospel multiplied further through City View planting The Paradox Church. Most recently, The Paradox planted Grace Church. Looking forward The Paradox and Grace will work together to plant 9 churches in 9 years in the Greater Fort Worth Area with Grace taking ownership for the south/southwest suburbs and rural areas (e.g. Burleson, Cleburne, Crowley, Cresson, Aledo, Weatherford, etc).
