What Shall We Do Now?
The world has shifted. Chaos abounds. Wars are happening. Christian leaders have fallen. Professing believers have walked away.
What shall we do now?
Well, by our definition, we are here to make disciples and plant churches by proclaiming and displaying the grace of God to sinners and sufferers. And we want those disciples and churches to delight in the Trinity, cultivate deep friendships, and boldly evangelize.
In the midst of it all, our church has grown in maturity and size! It’s multiplied!
What shall we do now?
Well, as we assess our disciples and churches, the Spirit has made something clear: we have matured in the first two! Your delight and passion for God has grown. Your effort to befriend and the depths of your friendships in marriages, in CGs, in our church has grown. Praise God! And while we ask Him for more so often, we think he is asking us for more. What He has exposed as a weakness, an invitation for help, is evangelism.
So one last time, what shall we do this year and forever:
We tell people about Jesus!
This makes common sense as you think of where He has taken us. What would a person do if they were awed and overjoyed by something? They’d talk! As a family who is more humble before and more joyful in Jesus, we’ll talk. We’ll unashamedly tell people about Jesus!
What are rhythms or markers?
We continue humbly; led by the Spirit (Psalm 143:10, Acts 10:42-43, 1 Peter 3:15)
We’re not doing a bunch of different things, but we’re doing normal everyday rhythms differently, on mission with Jesus
We all understand that we can't reach everyone, but we can reach ‘one more’. (Luke 10:2)
We practice generous hospitality (Deut. 10:19, Matt 25:35, Rom 15:7, Hebrews 13:2)
Our posture: We get to tell people about Jesus! (Phil 4:4, Luke 2:10, Rom 1:16, Rom 5:2, Rom 15:13,
We tell people about Jesus!
